Siemens ST100R16C ST Type 100 Amp 16 Circuit Generator Indoor Transfer Switch Overview

The Siemens ST100R16C ST Type Transfer Switch is a pre-wired external connection box with a weatherproof conduit for generator connections and is compatible with Siemens Nexus controllers. The Nexus controller senses power outages and initiates the transfer of power to the generator via the automatic transfer switch. The panel provides transfer capability to a select number of critical circuits, as opposed to the entire house. For the chosen critical circuits, the conductors in the main house panel are removed from the breaker and connected with wire nuts to the prewired conductors on the transfer switch. With 2-pole, 250 VAC contactors, it is electrically operated, and mechanically contacts for fast, positive connections. The main contacts are silver plated or silver alloy to resist welding and sticking. It has a 30-foot pre-wired conduit for connecting the transfer switch to the external connection box and a 2-foot pre-wired conduit for moving circuits from the main panel to the transfer switch. The dual coil designed switch has an open transition, 160 millisecond transfer time and is suitable for use only on air cooled products (8–17 kW). It is rated for all classes of load, 100-percent equipment rated, both inductive and resistive. An express install kit is included. The Siemens SGN030CBS Liquid Cooled Standby Generator is an ideal system for covering whole house utility failures for larger homes and small businesses. When utility fails, the control is factory set to delay 10 seconds prior to starting the engine and is adjustable up to 30 seconds. The unit ships from the factory ready for use with natural gas and can be converted to propane with a few additional conversion steps. The external mainline circuit breaker has power shutdown that eliminates the need to open the enclosure. The three LED indicator lights represent when the unit is ok (green), needs maintenance (yellow), or the dealer needs to be contacted (red). The unit features automatic high temperature, low coolant, low oil pressure and over speed shutdown and an automatic voltage regulator with over voltage protection. The unit runs a quiet weekly self test and has an Isochronous Electronic Governor and includes a Type N Nexus controller. The Nexus controller functions include monitoring utility power, triggering the automatic transfer switch, starting and stopping the generator, exercising the generator, and monitoring the generator for any system faults. It combines the voltage regulator, engine control board and battery charger into one single item. It brings more functionality to the generator control for a smarter power solution. Installation of the unit requires a concrete slab and a section of UL or AGA approved flexible fuel line to protect the rigid fuel line connections against generator vibration. A 1-foot flexible fuel line connector and safety fuse are included. The smart battery charger only delivers a charge to the battery when needed. The recommended battery is a 26 frame battery capable of 525-550cca (not included). Compatible with "SL" Type automatic transfer switches, the unit is UL 2200 Listed and meets EPA Emissions Regulations.
